Tropic Thunder (2008)
description written by member Zara:
In the action-comedy "Tropic Thunder," Ben Stiller plays pampered action superstar Tugg Speedman, who is cast in the biggest, most expensive war movie ever produced. He sets out to Southeast Asia with a "Who's Who" of celebrity co-stars. They include Kirk Lazarus (Robert Downey Jr.), an intense, three-time Oscar-winning actor; Jeff Portnoy (Jack Black), star of the popular gross-out comedy franchise "The Fatties"; multi-platinum hiphop-star-turned-entrepreneur-turned-actor Alpa Chino (Brandon T. Jackson); and first-timer Kevin Sandusky (Jay Baruchel). Soon after the production begins the actors are thrown into a real-life situation and are forced to become the fighting unit they're portraying, in order to find a way out of the jungle in one piece.

There are portions in this movie which are so funny, you'll laugh so hard that you'll look like Simple Jack. There are even a couple of moments where you'll clap when you laugh because they get it so right.

Ben Stiller directs and stars in this entertainment/celebrity satire about three high-profile primadonna actors - action stupor-star seeking...

'Tropic Thunder' is a satisfying comedy in which arrived late in the Summer movie season. After Wanted, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and The Dark Knight, 'Tropic Thunder' stands out as one of the only real comedy films which had a level of action. Directed by Ben Stiller, the film keeps the laughs coming and the...

Stiller. Black. Downey Jr. Nolte. Coogan. Cruise. McConaghan. Those other 2 guys and that guy from Saturday Night Live. It doesnt get any better than this. A blockbuster of flaming pyrotechnics. Scene after scene of parodic comedy genius you will feel as though youve travelled back in time in a time machine travelling...

"Tropic Thunder" takes us back to the Ben Stiller we like the best. The satirist of everything movies and of celebrities who take themselves WAY too seriously. This is the Ben Stiller we have been missing since "Zoolander" where the humor knows no boundaries (just ask those protesting the movie over how mentally challenged...
