The Forbidden Kingdom (2008)

Kung fu legends Jackie Chan and Jet Li star in this exciting adventure about a martial arts movie fanatic named Jason (Michael Angarano) who discovers a mystical Chinese staff in a local pawnshop that transports him to war-torn ancient China. When he learns that the staff belongs to the mighty Monkey King, who's been unjustly imprisoned by an evil warlord, Jason joins a group of skilled warriors to free the captive king and return the weapon.

I guess this movie just brought up memories in me, the ones of watching schlocky '70's Kung-Fu movies on lazy Sunday afternoons, but just revamped with brighter colors and some CGI action. I don't know. What I can tell you is that the movie was entertaining and gets a little more credit for captivating my daughter so much....

'The Forbidden Kingdom' was shown just as another martial arts epic starring Jet Li and Jackie Chan in their first on screen duo. Michael Angarano didn't receive to much attention through the previews and a lot of people just passed it by as an average action film. I thorougly enjoyed it, though there are many problems...
