Doomsday (2008)
description written by member Zara:
In "Doomsday," a lethal virus spreads throughout a major country and kills hundreds of thousands. To contain the newly identified Reaper, the authorities brutally quarantine the country as it succumbs to fear and chaos. The literal walling-off works for three decades - until Reaper violently resurfaces in a major city. An elite group of specialists, including Eden Sinclair (Mitra), is urgently dispatched into the still-quarantined country to retrieve a cure by any means necessary. Shut off from the rest of the world, the unit must battle through a landscape that has become a waking nightmare.

The ½ star review of 'Doomsday' may actually be too charitable, but allow me to elaborate more on this movie's awfulness. Director Neil Marshall's last film was The Descent, which was excellent and scary. This is his follow-up, and on his rather brief resume, I am sure you wouldn't find anything worse than 'Doomsday'. ...

Imagine a milkshake. Now to make this wonderful milkshake you put in, say some 28 Days later, a little bit of the full monty, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Resident Evil, Escape from L.A., Beyond Thunderdome, First Knight, Hannibal, V for Vendetta, Land of the Dead, mix all of that up. Now put some Bob Hoskins...
