  Inkheart (2009)

description written by member Zara:

"Inkheart" revolves around a girl whose father has the power to bring characters from books to life by reading aloud. When a villainous ruler and his band of rogues from a children's fable kidnap the man, his daughter and her friends, both real and imaginary, must rescue him. Playwright David Lindsay-Abaire penned the bigscreen adaptation of German author Cornelia Funke's fantasy novel, the first of a trilogy. "Inkspell" was published last fall, and "Inkdawn" will be out next year.

Inkheart Movie Review by Zara (6/28/2009)

I suppose the biggest problem with this film was the book which it was taken from. I started reading the Inkheart first novel (there are two subsequent books, "Inkspell" and "Inkdeath" and based on the poor box office reception for this one, I don't think they'll get made) and realized how bloated and verbose it was for a...

Inkheart Movie Review by Krissy (7/2/2009)

What a boring movie this was! I had high hopes for it, but was completely disappointed. I hate to say it but after watching the H.P. series most movies of this sort seem to fall flat. I have no clue how it ended as I went to bed three quarters of the way through, and my munchkins went off to play air hockey. I felt like I...

Inkheart Movie Review by Lloyd (2/12/2009)

I like brendan fraser, I love helen mirren, I like ian softley(a cool name too), and of course the delightful jim broadbent but I am not sure what happened here. Like another reviewer wrote here at match flick, at times it was hard to follow, I agree but I'm not sure what happened. I tried to follow the movie closely but...

Inkheart Movie Review by Jarrod (1/26/2009)

'Inkheart' is based on a bestselling fantasy novel by Cornelia Funke, described as the German equivalent of JK Rowling, though I don't know how large her following is outside of Europe, or maybe even outside of Germany, where she is wildly popular. 'Inkheart' is the first book of a series, so expect adaptations of its...

Inkheart Movie Review by RONNIE (1/23/2009)

INKHEART, this movie is a fantasy tail good for all ages however; the story was a little difficult to follow others thought so to. The movie had nice outdoor settings and pretty scenery. Elinor Loredan played by Helen Mirren, she was a comic relief in the movie portraying a kind of dippy person but well liked. In brief,...
