Superhero Movie! (2008)

The team that lampooned horror movies with the Scary Movie series takes on the superhero genre with this send-up penned by Craig Mazin. When the mayor of Fabtopolis (the sublimely silly Leslie Nielsen) is kidnapped by magician The Great Jim, a quartet of superheroes is called upon to save him: Beakman (the leader), Squak (the wannabe), Cleara (the see-through heroine) and The Stoner (a loser who becomes a large stone monster when high).

This was actually a pretty good movie. It didnt go over board with the amount of movies it spoofed like most movie spoofs. It had only around 4 movies it spoofed (Spiderman (main plot), X-Men (for some of it), Fantastic 4 (for 2 scenes) and Batman Begins (for 1 scene)) It also didnt have its whole movie just be a spoof of...

I don't know if 'Superhero Movie' was screened for critics or not, but I will say it is much better than Epic Movie, Date Movie, Meet the Spartans, and any other recent parodies of whole genres one would wish to name.
