Recently widowed Jessica Drummond (Barbara Stanwyck) grapples with the choice of a new suitor: She's attracted to Major Scott Landis (George Brent), but wants the stability offered by Frank Everett (Warner Anderson). When Landis reenters her life, her struggle takes on a new dimension.
