Funny Games 2008

description written by member Zara:

Anna (Naomi Watts) and George (Tim Roth) are enjoying a vacation with their son when a pair of sadistic young men, Paul (Michael Pitt) and Peter (Brady Corbet), breaks into their cabin and holds the family hostage. The psychotic duo plays twisted games with their prisoners, forcing them to comply to stay alive. Director Michael Haneke remakes his chilling 1997 German-language film as an indictment of the media's fascination with violence.

Funny Games Movie Review by Mary (3/31/2009)

Michael Pitt? Love him in this role! He portrays Paul a sadistic, charismatic, preppy guy who I guess gets off on manipulating, torturing, and just plain killing people. His sidekick Peter (Brady Corbet) is equally wierd and demented. They both make a good duo in a ruthless kind of way. I like Naomi Watts in this...

The creepy boys in Michael Haneke's movie, Michael Pitt and Brady Corbet, remind me so much of the boys in Clockwork Orange. They are totally devoid of conscience and just like torture for fun.

It's Hostel cleaned up for the art house crowd. Take out the nudity and the sex, and you have nothing left but funny games....

Funny Games Movie Review by Suzanne (8/1/2008)

This is a decent flick, but I didn't like it. What I mean is I wouldnt watch it again. It's kind of like a car accident that you crane your neck to see but there aint anything purty about it. It's like watching a snuff film.

Point is that it's a pointless movie. A movie that gives you the viewer, as well as the victims,...

Funny Games Movie Review by Zara (6/24/2008)

I was going to save reviewing this flick for the time that I got a chance to watch the original, still sitting on my side table in its NetFlix sleeve. But since I've seen two very negative reviews of it so far, I'll add my perspective.

Why would people hate this movie so much? Because it's a rather brilliant reflection of...

Funny Games Movie Review by Thomas (6/23/2008)

Dont even consider seeing this movie. This is a complete waist of time. Turned it off less then half way through the movie. The plot was bad, the acting was bad, in fact everything about the movie was bad. Were the two guys friends, roomates, brothers, gay! I have no idea, this movie was just plain horrible, I wish I never...
