The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008)
description written by member Zara:
When city-raised twins Jared and Simon (both played by Freddie Highmore) move to an old country mansion with their mother (Mary-Louise Parker) and sister (Sarah Bolger), it's quite an adjustment -- especially when they uncover a magical and sometimes dangerous fantasy world. Based on the best-selling children's books, this family adventure populated with all manner of fanciful creatures co-stars Joan Plowright, David Strathairn and Nick Nolte.

It had a good plot and some of the special effects were good. I enjoyed watching it and I rarely do with this kind of movie. So I would reconmend seeing it for a fun family adventure...

"The Spiderwick Chronicles" turned out to be a surprise for me. I enjoyed it quite a bit, and unlike "The Golden Compass" which was meant to be the start of another New Line Cinema trilogy/franchise, this feels like a complete movie. And unlike all those other movies where you have the characters traveling to snowy places...

'The Spiderwick Chronicles' is a fun little fantasy that is geared primarily towards children, though it occasionally has creatures and imagery that may very well scare those below a certain age, but for the most part, it remains mild, PG-rated fare. The movie is based on a series of books by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly...
