Walkout (2006)

It's 1968 in East Los Angeles, and Chicano high school students stage a coordinated series of walkouts to protest prejudice and poor school conditions. Led by teacher Sal Castro (Michael Pena), the students stand up to police and bureaucrats in an effort to improve the lives and futures of all students. Director Edward James Olmos's drama is an inspiring chronicle of the historic standoff that forever changed Latino communities across the nation.
