Be Kind Rewind (2008)

When Jerry (Jack Black) accidentally magnetizes his brain, he inadvertently erases all the videos in the rental store his buddy Mike (Mos Def) runs. To please the store's loyal customers, Jerry and Mike set out to produce their own low-rent remakes of the erased films. Danny Glover, Mia Farrow and Paul Dinello also star in this imaginative comedy written and directed by Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind).

I would best describe this movie as Mia Farrow's character talks lovingly about DRIVING MISS DAISY. It is a sweet movie with heart and good intentions, even if there are some parts to it which make it a tad unpalatable.

Big disappointment. When I saw the preview for the first time I was really into seeing this film. Almost a montage of classic films looked to have parodies made by Jack Black and Mos Def which sounded awesome. Then adding Danny Glover into the film had me really intrigued.

Awful, just awful. I went into this movie hoping for the best. What a neat idea - the tapes in a video store all get erased and the two friends entrusted with the tapes decide to recreate each movie using a home video camera.

Is there a conspiracy here? The wacko Jerry from this film and the wacko Jerry from Conspiracy Theory are the same person? No? They sure sound the same to me.
Jack Black and Mos Def are hilarious as they set out to fix the VHS tapes in Danny Glover's store that Jerry erased by making their own movies. What a creative idea...

Ok the movie had its funny moments and the plot was original but it did have dumb jokes. It wasnt one of Jack Black's best moments but it didnt completely stink. The "Sweeded" versions of the movies they did were pretty funny ("Ghostbusters", "Drivving miss daisy", etc). Its the kind of movie you need to see once. Once you...
