Starting Out in the Evening (2007)

Langella plays Leonard Schiller, a once-famous New York writer who is both shaken and emboldened when a beautiful graduate student(Lauren Ambrose) invades his solitude to mine his life for her thesis about his novels. The screenplay was adapted by Wagner and Fred Parness from the PenFaulkner Award-nominated novel by Brian Morton.

I would be beneficial to all of us if we would write a couple of novels during our life. Leonard Schiller (Frank Langella) had written four and was struggling on a fifth. He couldn't understand why he was not making progress. Given that our characters in the novels are taken from our lives, maybe his life had just become...
