I don't know if I would go so far as to call the original film version of "Sleuth" a classic, but it is a darn good film and features virtuoso performances from Sir Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine.

I have not seen the original but was intrigued that Caine was playing in a remake of his own movie and playing the opposite character. Camera angles and the way views were presented were different from most movies. The house Caine lives in showcased his personality well for hidden spaces and his intellect.
