When a young man finds out that his mother is being remarried, he returns home, but soon finds out that she must stop the wedding plans when he learns that she's planning on marrying his old gym teacher, Mr. Woodcock (Billy Bob Thornton), who tormented him in high school.

Mr. Woodcock looked to be the next big comedy. When you take veterans like Billy Bob Thorton and Susan Sarandon....then add in Stifler otherwise known as
Seann William Scott....you think that it will be hilarious. Even the previews made the film look like it was going to make you fall on the floor laughing.

I actually love Seann William Scott. I feel for him in his having created one of the most memorable characters in recent film history and now being forced to never live it down. People will always identify him with being Stiffler from the AMERICAN PIE movies, but...

Billy Bob Thornton, in 'Mr Woodcock', is much like his character in Bad Santa, utterly devoid of kindness, mean, cruel, and sadistic, harboring a deep resentment of children, and is thoroughly unpleasant, and doesn't care one bit whether anyone likes him or not.

There are only a few different types of comedies â€" memorable, forgettable and just plain OK. Mr. Woodcock falls int the last category due mainly to the fact that it expends all of the most funny bits in the trailer. Plus, at least one gag that was set up, never got to pay off. Add to that a weak love interest for Farley...
