Spider-Man 3 (2007)
description written by member Zara:
At the conclusion of the last installment in the Spiderman franchise, Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) had revealed to Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst) that he was really Spiderman, opening up his chances for a romance with her. As the third installment opens, he is in the midst of just that. Life has found its little piece of rosy pasture for Parker, allowing him to woo Mary Jane and pursue better job opportunities at The Daily Bugle. But as most comic book stories go, things can not stay placid for very long when you're a superhero and soon Parker is up against some of the toughest demons he's ever faced.
An escaped criminal by the name of Flint Marko (Thomas Hayden Church) is revealed to be the true killer of Peter's beloved uncle Ben. On the run from the law, Marko gets trapped in the middle of an industrial accident, transforming him into the shape-shifting Sandman and giving Peter a new foe to deal with. He also ends up with conflict in the office as his boss hires a new reporter (Topher Grace) to investigate why Mary Jane left his son to be with Peter.
Conflicting emotions leave Peter prey to a mysterious black substance which takes over his body, enhancing his powers and tapping into his underlying rage and desire for revenge on the criminal responsible for his uncle's death. It also opens the door for Harry (James Franco) to step into his father's place as the New Goblin, looking for his own revenge over the injustice he believes Parker had a hand in.
Mix in a new dame (Bryce Dallas Howard) who sets her sights on Peter and add the fact that the mysterious black substance has plans for more than just Spiderman and you've got yourself the darkest and most twisted of the franchise's installments. Can Spiderman overcome the forces within him and discover what's truly important? Will his relationship with Mary Jane thrive or suffer? How will he handle the newer villains getting throw in every direction at him? Come May 4th, 2007, the world will find out.

Life finally feels good for Peter Parker. He has managed to balance life as both Spider-Man and as Mary Jane's boyfriend. He is even planning on proposing to MJ. But life isn't always going to be easy for the webbed hero. Harry Osborn still hasn't forgiven Peter for the death of his father. He has developed the perfect...

Sam Raimi's third installment of the Spider-man franchise, in my opinion, stands by itself, not holding a similar structure to the two previous films. Spider-man and Spider-man 2's composition seemed much more action based with an emotional story line built around it. With Spider-man 3 it appears to be just the opposite,...

If you are one of these people, please go and see the film. You will enjoy...

What a tedious movie. Two and a half hours that felt like ten. I heard recently that they are considering going ahead with a 4th, 5th, and 6th, which begs the question of why they tried to cram so much crap into this one?
Sandman character? Destroyed. They took Thomas Haden Church, gave him nothing to do, and then kept...

I think the only thing that Sam Raimi could have done worse in this outing was rehiring David Koepp to write the script. Koepp wrote the screenplay for the first Spiderman movie, and that will (so far) remain the outing in the franchise that I liked the least. (Or hated the most, take your pick.) It's sad, really. Koepp...
