  Music and Lyrics (2007)

description written by member Tim:

A down and out singer played by Hugh Grant is given a couple days to compose a chart-topping hit for an admiring teen sensation. This is the first time he is writing lyrics and he quickly sparks with an offbeat younger woman played by Drew Barrymore with a super talent for writing.

Music and Lyrics Movie Review by Zara (4/6/2007)

Everything that I'd heard about this movie (as much as I cared to paid attention to since most of the time I don't read other people's reviews until I've seen the movie myself) added up to this movie being a giant heap of sh*t.

And when it first started, I'll admit that I was pretty sure that it was headed in that...

Music and Lyrics Movie Review by Matthew (2/23/2007)

Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore have pretty much made their careers from playing star-crossed lovers in a series of romantic comedies and dramas, so "Music and Lyrics" would seem inevitable and finally restores this cosmic balance, bringing them together. Finally.

Grant and Barrymore each have their own 'shtick'; Grant's...

Music and Lyrics Movie Review by Jessica Film Junkie (8/27/2007)

In recent years Hugh Grant has taken to playing the cad in most of his films. In the 90's he was the stuttering charmer, but in the 21st century he has become the arsehole. However here he breaks from that type to play a has-been 80's pop star trying to rekindle his career.

It might seen a prime opportunity to play a...

Music and Lyrics Movie Review by Yvonne (8/15/2007)

I thought this would be a great movie. It had all the elements including Drew Barrymore and a touch of the 80's...

I could barely make it through this movie. It was so long and drawn out, I fell asleep. I was disappointed, the previews made this one out to be a great movie.

I wouldn't waste my time with this one.

Music and Lyrics Movie Review by Denise (7/18/2007)

You know the drill-- boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in like, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back (here with the cunning use of song-- oh, Lloyd Dobler, how I've missed you so), kiss with girl's legs around boy's waist ensues.

Hugh Grant does what he does well-- Hugh Grant. You know: charming, cute but flawed English...
