Hannibal Rising (2007)
This is a sequel to the other films involving the sick murderer Hannibal Lector. It displays his life in three different time periods taking you through the creation of the madman and leading right up to where he was captured in Russia by the F.B.I. agent Will Graham in Red Dragon.

I had heard/read scathing reviews of this film, but being a huge Hannibal Lector fan, I had to see the film.
The first act, showing the child Lector, was probably the most interesting part of the film. I have the book the screenplay is based on, but admit I didn't get around to reading it before I saw the film. Hopefully...

Sequels are generally less interesting, less successful and less fulfilling than the first film. They are usually made for one reason and only one reason, a greater chance of box office revenues. "Hannibal Rising" is a strange example of this problem.

The Razzie's nominated this film as the worst excuse for a horror movie. It wasn't a horror movie at all, but a tale of revenge upon men who committed a murder.
One could even say that they didn't commit murder, but only did what was necessary to survive. One could, but they enjoyed it too much to forgive them.

Well I guess I am going to get a lot of "Is she kidding" comments but I actually liked the movie.
I have seen the other "Hannibal" movies and Brian Cox portrail was the most interesting to me. When I see/saw Hopkins in the role, I didn't see Hannibal Lector, I saw Anthony Hopkins. I am starting to think he actually is...
