  Apocalypto (2006)

From Academy Award® winning filmmaker Mel Gibson ("The Passion of The Christ," "Braveheart"), comes "Apocalypto": a heart stopping mythic action-adventure set against the turbulent end times of the once great Mayan civilization. When his idyllic existence is brutally disrupted by a violent invading force, a man is taken on a perilous journey to a world ruled by fear and oppression where a harrowing end awaits him. Through a twist of fate and spurred by the power of his love for his woman and his family he will make a desperate break to return home and to ultimately save his way of life. (read more)

I don't know whether or not Mel Gibson is actually an anti-semite or is guilty of many of the things he is accused of such as alcoholism. There is one thing I do know for sure... he is a filmmaker and I will not judge him...

Apocalypto Movie Review by Tim (5/29/2007)

Mel Gibson co-wrote and directed this epic about Indians in the Mayan dynasty being captured and...

Apocalypto Movie Review by Thom (4/30/2008)

When I think about Apocalypto, the only reason that I considered going to see it - and ultimately watched it - was because it was directed by Mel Gibson. Gibson, despite the negative overreation he's received for being a flawed human being, is now very well known for The Passion of the Christ, a film that -even as an...

Apocalypto Movie Review by Chris (4/25/2008)

With his first directorial debut of Braveheart, which I thought was great, he really stunned the audience with his great power to tell a story and shoot some fantastic battle scenes. With Passion of The Christ,...
