The Fountain 2006

What if you could live forever? The Fountain is an odyssey about one man's eternal struggle to save the woman he loves. His epic journey begins in 16th-century Spain, where conquistador Tomas (Hugh Jackman) commences his search for the Fountain of Youth, the legendary entity believed to grant immortality. As modern-day scientist Tommy Creo, he desperately struggles to find a cure for the cancer that is killing his beloved wife, Isabel (Rachel Weisz). Traveling through deep space as a 26th-century astronaut, Tom begins to grasp the mysteries that have consumed him for a millennium. The three stories converge into one truth, as the Thomas of all periods -- warrior, scientist, and explorer -- comes to terms with life, love, death and rebirth. (read more)

The Fountain Movie Review by Tim (6/11/2007)

I going to be the black sheep for this film and say that I thought it sucked. It is one of those films that respective film lovers feel as is if they have to like because of the classiness and talent of Darren Aronofsky. I mean yeah I like Requiem for a Dream its freaking awesome but that doesn't make everything Darren...

The Fountain Movie Review by Jesse (5/19/2007)

Brilliant... just brilliant! Darren Aronofsky is a genius and this is in the same league as his previous masterpiece Requiem for a Dream. With so many people disliking this film and many people I know telling me to avoid it, I was hesitant to see this. However, after I watched it for the first time I was amazed. Not only...

The Fountain Movie Review by Ezra (3/12/2007)

I admire Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem For A Dream) more than almost any other filmmaker alive, and this film is a perfect example of why this is so. The Fountain is probably the most personal film of the year, and certainly the one that I personally felt the most; by the end, I was literally convulsing, with tears running...

The Fountain Movie Review by Douglas (2/9/2007)

This movie wasn't what I thought it would be, nor was it what I hoped it would be. It WAS better than watching the Giants lose though. Hugh Jackman plays three roles, which could be the same person through all of them if you want to look at it that way - a conquistador named Tomas, a doctor or scientist named Tommy, and...
