  Open Season (2006)

Boog (Martin Lawrence), a grizzly bear with no survival skills, has his perfect world in the tranquil town of Timberline turned upside-down when he meets Elliot (Ashton Kutcher), a scrawny, fast-talking wild mule deer. Elliot arrives in Timberline missing an antler and strapped to the hood of a truck, courtesy of the paranoid über-hunter Shaw (Gary Sinise). Against his better judgment, Boog frees Elliot. Elliot attempts to return the favor by "freeing" Boog from his idyllic existence with his beloved Park Ranger Beth (Debra Messing), who raised him since he was a cub. Things quickly spiral out of control. The two troublemakers are relocated together to the wild...just three days before open season! With hunting season upon them and Shaw in hot pursuit, Boog and Elliot must learn to work together and unite the woodland creatures. (read more)

Open Season Movie Review by Misty (2/15/2007)

I just watched this animated film last night with my sister. We both thought it was cute and pretty funny in most parts.

Open Season is about a Grizzly Bear (Boog with the voice of Martin Lawrence) who's been domesticated by a very loving Park Ranger (Beth with Debra Messing's voice). She treats him like a dog,...

Open Season Movie Review by Matthew (10/5/2006)

Boog (Martin Lawrence), a domesticated bear living with a park ranger (Debra Messing) in a small mountain community, is perfectly happy. Living in the ranger's garage, they make the trip into town on a daily basis and Boog performs to the delight of dozens of children. One day, after the show, the ranger pulls up to the...

Open Season Movie Review by Jessica (6/21/2007)

I thought this movie was cute and funny. Ashton Kutcher was the perfect person to be Elliot. I usually don't watch animated movies but I throughly enjoyed this one. My favorite part was when all the animals raided the camper trailer and attacked the hunters. Boog was played by Martin Lawrence and he gave the bear some...

Open Season Movie Review by Javi (2/20/2007)

This movie scares me. Why you ask? It may just be (for me at least) the nail in the coffin of imaginative animation of the new CG wave. I'll be honest, "Cars" was great but it was Doc Hollywood with Hot Wheels come to life. Other animations that have come out lately I can't even begin to recollect of due to the...

Open Season Movie Review by Megan (2/4/2007)

This movie is part of that constant wave of animated stories that provide entertainment for the kids while layering in some subtle adult humor. Meaning you will be able to sit through it without squirming in your seat.

It has a sweet message for kids and lots of exciting scenes. Nothing too upsetting for the little ones...
