The Covenant (2006)
Based on the graphic novel by Aron Coleite and Tone Rodriguez, The Covenant is the power passed down from generation to generation, but when four boys accidentally unleash an evil force in the process of receiving the powers from their fathers, they must join together to stop it. Privilege and beauty abound at Spencer Academy, a New England boarding school for the region's reigning elite. Directed by Renny Harlin, The Covenant tells the story of the Sons of Ipswich, four young students bound by their sacred ancestry. As descendants of the original families who settled in Ipswich Colony in the 1600's, the boys have inherited special powers - but the one hitch is that the misuse of these powers can shorten their lives and, once they turn 18, can actually kill them. When the body of a dead student is discovered after a party, secrets begin to unravel and the covenant of silence that protects them is threatened. Will the boys become victims of their own supernatural gifts? (read more)
