February was a wacky month even for the Gunshine State! Tornadoes ripping through my County, a whacked out astronaut puts on her depends and acts spaced out, and a fellow Texan buys it in Hollywood - Florida, not California. Yes, Anna Nicole Smith was from Mexia, Texas.

"Little Miss Sunshine", the new independent comedy, is that rare thing. A comedy that works. And works consistently. It is a delightful film filled with memorable performances, in one case, the actor's best performance. I honestly can't think of a bad thing to say about this gem. You should rush out to see it.

Yes there are a plethora of dynsfunctional family movies, especially indie ones, yet this movie has something many of the others are missing: heart. It might sound corny, but this movie allows its characters to be dramatically f*cked, while also making you want to give each one a great big hug.
