Miami Vice (2006)
Colin Farrell will play Det. James "Sonny" Crockett and Jamie Foxx will play Det. Ricardo Tubbs in the big screen adaptation of hit '80s cop drama. In the movie, they face a transnational criminal enterprise whose leader and chief financial officer is of Chinese/Cuban origin (Gong Li). The original series, created by Anthony Yerkovich and executive produced by Michael Mann, starred Don Johnson as Crockett and Philip Michael Thomas as Tubbs.

Well, they didn't Michael Mann (The Insider, Collateral, The Aviator) failed to produce the magic on the big screen that he did as producer of the TV series.

MIAMI VICE started off in a cool looking night club with good looking people dancing, having fun, while Foxx/Farrell observe. I did not know why we were in this night club. I did not know who we were watching or why. I did not know how we got here. I did not know where we were going. This confusion lasted throughout the 2...

It's hard to tell what in the world is going on in this movie, mostly because you can't tell what the hell anyone is saying. Perhaps it's because, without a script, the characters themselves aren't sure what to say or do. The plot is either the most incredibly complex crime stew of all time, or there isn't one to begin...
