Strangers with Candy (2006)
A prequel to the Comedy Central series of the same name, this is the story of Jerri Blank (Amy Sedaris), a forty-seven year old ex-con, junky whore who decides to return home after thirty-two years as a runaway. Jerri decides to turn her life around by picking it up exactly where she left off - as a high school freshman. But the path to the prom is fraught with adolescent problems and temptations that plague all teenagers, but especially this middle-aged former boozer, user and loser. (read more)

Strangers with Candy' is based on a short-lived show that was cancelled fairly swiftly by Comedy Central, though one of its stars, Stephen Colbert, now enjoys success with the brilliant Colbert Report. Colbert is a funny guy, which makes me wonder why how he came up with some of the lame ideas in this haphazardly humorous...
