Hard Candy (2006)
Hayley's a smart, charming teenage girl -- but even smart girls make mistakes. She's hooking up in a coffee shop with Jeff, a guy she's met on the Internet. And even though he's a cute, smooth high-end fashion photographer in his early 30s, Hayley shouldn't be suggesting that the two of them go back to his house—alone. When they get there, Hayley quickly finds some vodka and starts mixing screwdrivers. She even suggests a photo shoot and strips off some clothing. Everything is going well for Jeff... until his vision blurs and fades, and he passes out. (read more)

You know, Prince talent, Michaelangelo talent, Kobe Bryant talent, talent that goes beyond skill or hard work or even conviction. There are moments when talent is as naked as a waterfall; it is simply there -- raw and pulsing...

Ellen Page plays the androgynous 14 year old Hayley Stark who after meeting a charming 30 something photographer (Jeff) online is lured to a coffee shop for a face to face meeting with our would be wolf. Jeff proceeds to woo the young Hayley with compliments, gifts and talk of her favorite bands, its seems to have done the...

Brutal, sick and twisted, this film defies easy categorization; in a way, it is almost a dark (very dark) comedy, but ultimately, it's almost like a superhero story. Of course, on the surface, it's a horrific revenge drama in which a terrifyingly "innocent" teen (Ellen Page, in a jaw-dropping performance) makes an...
