An inspirational drama, AKEELAH AND THE BEE is the story of Akeelah Anderson (Keke Palmer), a precocious eleven-year-old girl from south Los Angeles with a gift for words. Akeelah and the Bee Movie Review by Zara (3/10/2007)

This was a waste of good talent, as far as I'm concerned. A plot that is more see through than anything Paris Hilton has ever worn and a lead actress who comes off more annoying than cute, I just couldn't get into the movie.

Akeelah and the Bee Movie Review by Matthew (5/11/2006)

Akeelah and the Bee is one of a few movies that Hollywood has spewed to be family-friendly. I always like positive movies like this that emphasize the importance of of an "education." Kudos to Producers: Starbucks, espresso sanctuary / film studio, a great first outing... brew us some more, brew us some more!

Akeelah...

Akeelah and the Bee Movie Review by Jessica Film Junkie (4/10/2007)

A very sweet, heart-warming film about an 11 year-old girl (relative newcomer Keke Palmer) who is attempting to win the National Spelling Bee.

The film centres around Akeelah's relationship with her mother (Angela Bassett, riveting and powerful as always), her brothers and her coach (Laurence Fishburne in a grave and...

Akeelah and the Bee Movie Review by Melanie (3/10/2007)

This movie has some funny moments, some moving moments, and even some inspirational moments but there is nothing particularly outstanding about it. It does a fantastic job of being a feel good movie but so very unrealistic. *Spoiler Alert* Really, the odds of two kids tying for the first place in the Scripps National...
