The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (2005)
"The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe," a spectacular live-action/CGI motion picture adaptation of C.S. Lewis' beloved literary classic. Lewis' timeless adventure follows the exploits of the four Pevensie siblings - Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter - in World War II England who enter the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing a game of 'hide-and-seek' in the rural country home of an elderly professor. Once there, the children discover a charming, peaceful land inhabited by talking beasts, dwarfs, fauns, centaurs and giants that has become a world cursed to eternal winter by the evil White Witch, Jadis. I did read the book back in the day, but that was like 14 years ago...so honestly I didn't remember much of the story, but I knew that I liked it when I did read it and I'd heard so much hype about the movie and even searched the net for pictures. I usually wait for movies to come out on DVD before watching them, so I had...

Tolkien in his Lord of The Rings series. This picture also takes the elements of middle-earth and meshes it with a jungle of...

Now here's a flick that, despite bringing in lots of cash, just isn't getting the praise it deserves. Perhaps expectations were unfairly affected by the generalized anxiety induced by -- gasp! -- no more Lord of the Rings. It's true, this film isn't LOTR. And for this we ought to be grateful; Narnia isn't so...

Bored and isolated in the...

Ok so first off, I read the C.S. Lewis Narnia series a multitude of times when I was a kid and know the story like the back of my hand. This and the fact that the good ole BBC made countless mini-series based on this book lead me to be very unimpressed with Hollywood's attempt.
It seemed to me that the movie was grasping...
