Pride and Prejudice 2005

Based on Jane Austen s beloved novel, the classic tale of love and values unfolds in the class-conscious England of the late 18th century. The five Bennet sisters including strong-willed Elizabeth and young Lydia have all been raised by their mother with one purpose in life: finding a husband. When a wealthy bachelor takes up residence in a nearby mansion, the Bennets are abuzz. Amongst the man s sophisticated circle of friends, surely there will be no shortage of suitors for the Bennet sisters. But when Elizabeth meets up with the handsome and it would seem snobbish Mr. Darcy, the battle of the sexes is joined. (read more)

Pride and Prejudice Movie Review by Becca (3/2/2008)

Pride and Prejudice is the story of a young love between Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. The first time Elizabeth and Darcy are introduced, Elizabeth thinks Darcy only an arrogant stuck-up snob, and thoroughly enjoys the chance to verbally spar with him and knock him down a few pegs. The second meeting shows Mr. Darcy...

Pride and Prejudice Movie Review by Jessica (3/20/2007)

Alright, let me get down to the point. This movie was not in any way as good as the book. In my opinion, the plot was excellent, but the ending, I wasn't exactly a fan of. As I was watching this film, I thought they would at least kiss! They only kiss once, at the exact end! WHAT is a love movie without a kiss at least 2...

Pride and Prejudice Movie Review by Jessica Film Junkie (3/5/2007)

Literary adaptations are difficult terrain. Beloved novels can hardly be rightfully displayed in a 2 hour film. Yet sometimes, films come quite close to perfection and this is one of those times.

I was moved by this film: the acting is stellar, the cinematography breathtaking and the wordsmanship accomplished. The...

Pride and Prejudice Movie Review by Melanie (2/8/2007)

My sister has been telling me how much I've needed to see this movie, ever since it came out. I finally broke down and got it. I guess I thought I was in the mood for a love story with a happy ending for all. After having seen this movie, I will admit that it was well done, but I don't think it could have been much more...

Pride and Prejudice Movie Review by oriona (11/15/2005)

I will first admit that I adore the 1995 A&E Pride and Prejudice version with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. That version, to me, is absolutely breathtaking. I loved the fact that it was 5 hours long, to me that is like the unabridged version.

Though I adore the 1995 version, I must say that I am now smitten with this...
