description written by member Lisa:
The true story of James J. Braddock a journey man boxer who like many
Americans lost almost everything in the great depression, except his
will to fight. Braddock brought hope back to the American public when
he fought back from the depths of obscurity to win the heavy weight

In my opinion and I value my own opinion highly, Cinderella Man is the most underrated film of 2005. I still to this day do not understand why this movie did not take off more and go over the $100,000,000 mark.

When I saw it again in July on my birthday with my father, I stood by that claim. Now that it's November, almost December, and having seen more movies, I still stand by...

CINDERELLA MAN is the true story of a boxing champ, James J. Braddock; a boxer during the early 1930's whose heart and determination would help him survive the effects of the Great Depression.
Braddock (played by the very talented Russel Crowe) is a, more than average, boxer. He has a beautiful wife (Renee Zellweger) whom...

Jim Braddock (Russell Crowe) is at the top of his game; a good fighter, he has a real shot to become the Champion. He lives with his wife Mae (Renee Zellweger) and their three kids in a nice home in New Jersey. He puts most of his winnings into stocks and bonds. Then the Great Depression hits and he loses everything....
