Kingdom of Heaven (2005)
Orlando Bloom stars as Balian, a blacksmith who has lost his family and nearly lost his faith. The religious wars raging in the far-off Holy Land seem remote to him, yet he is pulled into that immense drama. I was expecting the worst with this movie and came out pleasantly surprised. It took an angle I was not expecting and one that I greatly appreciated. It actually raised some thoughts and led to a brief discussion afterwards about some of the concepts it brought up.
