Be Cool (2005)
John Travolta is back as Chili Palmer in Be Cool, a sequel to the comedy smash Get Shorty. This time, Chili becomes a different kind of "hit" man – he abandons the movie industry to bring his wiseguy skills and negotiation tactics to the music business. When a friend is offed while they're at lunch, Chili takes the opportunity to visit the guy's wife, Edie, and pitch himself as her new business partner at an independent record label. With a promising young pop-star-in-training as his protégé, Chili has to juggle her faux-urban manager, his gay, wannabe-actor bodyguard, Russian mobsters, and an eloquent gangsta music producer to save the label and land a hit – and keep from getting popped himself. Be Cool, the sequel to 1995's rather amusing Get Shorty, is basically just the same film only with a few new characters and a slight change to the storyline as it's the recording industry and not Hollywood that Chili Palmer wants to control this time. The film is peppered with a wasted, yet talented cast that includes John...

Everyone's favorite wiseguy-slash-movie producer is back in BE COOL, sequel to 1995's hit comedy GET SHORTY. Embittered by the film industry, Chili Palmer (John Travolta) decides to leap out of movies and dive head first into the music biz. When a friend is killed, Chili uses the opportunity to partner up with his widow...

Cool? Maybe tepid is the right word.
The premise – that Chili (John Travolta) decides to help singer Linda Moon (Christina Milian - YUM!) escape from crooked manager Raji (Vince Vaughn) – is solid, but the story just seems to float all over the place.
It was almost as if they were trying to do an Ocean's movie with all...

A nonsensical piece of crap that had an inexplicably great cast. I hated this movie, it bored me to tears.
Course, I didn't really like 'Get Shorty' either, but at least it had a plot!
This movie is little more than an excuse for awesome cameos.
Terrible.

I like self-referential films. I do. I love it that the kids in "Scream" know they're in a horror movie. I love it when Bugs Bunny talks to the audience in the theatre. I even liked when Ben Affleck asked, "Who would want to see a film about Jay and Silent Bob," even if his subsequent glance towards the audience was...
