I didn't much care for John Carpenter's original 1976 Assault on Precinct 13, and I like this one even less. At least the original had a modicum of intelligence and had the balls to go for something truly shocking--the ice cream truck scene, anyone?--even if it amounted to little else than shock effect. This one is surprising, as even though I am a big John Carpenter fan, I didn't care for the orginial Assault on Precinct 13. But, this one is petty good, I liked it and enjoy it very much.
