The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou 2004

Internationally famous oceanographer Steve Zissou and his crew -- Team Zissou -- set sail on an expedition to hunt down the mysterious, elusive, possibly non-existant Jaguar Shark that killed Zissou's partner during the documentary filming of their latest adventure. They are joined on their voyage by a young airline co-pilot who may or may not be Zissou's son, a beautiful journalist assigned to write a profile of Zissou, and Zissou's estranged wife and co-producer, Eleanor. They face overwhelming complications including pirates, kidnapping, and bankruptcy. (read more)

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou Movie Review by Seth (1/1/2005)

I went into this film a little skeptical, knowing that the brilliance that is Wes Anderson cannot last forever. RUSHMORE is quite possibly my favorite film of all time and ROYAL TENENBAUMS breaks the top 10. Even BOTTLE ROCKET has a very special place in my heart. I knew Owen Wilson wasn't helping with the writing on...

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou Movie Review by Jeremy (6/25/2010)

"No sooner does man discover intelligence than he tries to involve it in his own stupidity." Jacques Cousteau.

Being a huge fan of Wes Anderson, and having Jacques Cousteau as one of my 3 all time heroes from childhood on up...my expectations were high. From the opening scene, for some reason, I found myself in a...

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou Movie Review by AJ (4/14/2006)

Whenever I think of the phrase "grossly underrated," The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou comes to mind. I've heard many complaints about...

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou Movie Review by Chad (5/28/2005)

I'm not a huge fan of Bill Murray but do have respect for him. That being said, I'm really happy that he's not slowly degrading himself by throwing himself into an inevitable "Ghostbusters" re-make. He's stretching himself and making different filims that work, and some that don't.

I believe "Life Aquatic" falls somewhere...

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou Movie Review by Ms. V (2/21/2005)

I love Wes Anderson's quirky flicks, such as Rushmore and the Royal Tennenbaums. I am a fan of Bill Murray and Owen Wilson, so I was happy to see them return (as well as Angelica Huston) in quirky roles. Wilem Dafoe adds a few great laughs. The animation came off as cheesy, but the dialogue and situations made up for...
