The Brothers Grimm (2005)
A dark fantasy about the two "Brothers Grimm" who travel around the Napoleonic countryside vanquishing fake monsters and demons in exchange for cash. When the French government figures out what they're up to, they force the brothers to deal with the real thing -- a number of murders being committed under mysterious circumstances in the northern woods between Germany and France. It is there that they have to try and discover what's really happening and deal with it before more people are killed or their lack of success leads to the guillotine. (read more)

Terry Gilliam seems to have lost his touch. This film is filled with good intentions, great casting and quite the imagination. However none of those aspects really form into a coherent storyline, or make you care at all. Heath Ledger and Matt Damon have fun with it, but the film falls apart very quickly.

Ledger's character was getting on my nerves a bit too much. Towards the ending, realizing that it was almost over, I didn't...

I was really excited to see this movie, but I was greatly disappointed! While all the actors delivered excellent performances, they were victims of a story that made no sense whatsoever! For instance, one character my friends and I were led to believe died returned a few scenes later! Coincidence? Maybe, due to the...

The Brothers Grimm is another in a line of fantasy movies derived from famous books, such as Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings and the upcoming film, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
This is a good fantasy movie and it is kind of fun the way it spins pieces of many of the most famous...
