The 40 Year Old Virgin 2005

40-year-old Andy Stitzer has done quite a few things in his life. He's got a cushy job stamping invoices at an electronics superstore, a nice apartment with a proud collection of action figures and comic books, good friends, a nice attitude. But there's just one little thing he hasn't quite gotten around to doing yet--something most people have done by his age. Done a lot. Andy's never, ever, ever had sex--not even by accident. So is that such a big deal? Well, for Andy's buds at the store, it sure is. Although they think he's a bit of an oddball, there's certainly a planetful of stranger (and homelier) guys who've at least had one go at having a go. They consider it their duty to help Andy out of his dire situation and go to great lengths to help him. But nothing proves effective enough to lure their friend out of lifelong chastity until he meets Trish, a 40-year-old mother of three. (read more)

The 40 Year Old Virgin Movie Review by Seth (8/20/2005)

Despite my high expectations of Steve Carell, he and this movie delivered. You would think that a movie about a 40 year old virgin would be over the top ridiculous, but this it is not. And just when you are afraid it's pulling off the drama or the romance too well, it hits you in the face with laugh out loud...

The 40 Year Old Virgin Movie Review by Chris (6/20/2008)

The stock supervisor of Smart Tech store Andy is a nice guy and good colleague. One night, his colleagues David, Jay and Cal invite him for a poker game, and in the end of the night, they find that Andy is a 40 years old virgin and they decide to help him to score. When he meets the divorced Trish, the owner of "We Sell...

The 40 Year Old Virgin Movie Review by Zara (11/6/2007)

I felt like revisiting a couple of Carell movies recently because I read this bit recently on how he seemed to be sliding too quickly into a comfy role of the non-offensive comedy actor.

I'd really like to point out that he's never really been all that offensive. This movie was supposedly the first one that showcased how...

The 40 Year Old Virgin Movie Review by Movie Addict (3/12/2007)

The premise is unbelievable, but very funny. How can a man, in the time when nearly half of high school students and one in five middle school students said they have had sexual intercourse, be a virgin at 40. Maybe it's something in the packaging of those action figures. Hey, Star Wars geeks, the packaging is bad for...

The 40 Year Old Virgin Movie Review by Jessica Film Junkie (3/5/2007)

The frat pack is an emerging group of dudes who make hilarious movies in various combinations and are basically ruling the current comedy movies genre. 'Anchorman', 'Dodgeball', 'The Wedding Crashers', ' Starsky and Hutch', 'Zoolander', 'Old School' and now 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin'. What makes this film different is that...
