Bad News Bears (2005)
When Billy Bob Thornton was Santa, he was bad. Now, as he becomes the coach of 12 bungling ballplayers, he's even worse. In "Bad News Bears," grizzled former professional baseball player Morris Buttermaker is bribed by a straitlaced lawyer to coach the Bears, a woefully inept youth baseball team. Buttermaker's got to find a way to drive this gang of 12 misfits to a championship against their hated rivals: the Yankees and their overbearing coach. This movie started off as a fairly funny movie, but then the humor was recycled and everything just became not-so-funny. Example: the little kid who always gets pissed and throws his glove. Two time = funny. Every time after that = I wanted to beat him because he was annoying the piss out of me. Anyway, see it if you want...

My question would be "why": why was this necessary? In this, The Summer of Remakes, we've seen Batman Begins reveal a darker, more realistic territory for the Dark Knight to patrol, and War of the Worlds, which, as you've certainly had pounded into your head by every critic in the land, updated the classic novel and movie...
