  Layer Cake (2005)

Based upon JJ Connelly's London crime novel, "Layer Cake" is about a successful cocaine dealer who has earned a respected place among England's Mafia elite and plans an early retirement from the business. However, big boss Jimmy Price hands down a tough assignment: find Charlotte Ryder, the missing rich princess daughter of Jimmy's old pal Edward, a powerful construction business player and gossip papers socialite. Complicating matters are two million pounds' worth of Grade A ecstasy, a brutal neo-Nazi sect and a whole series of double crossings. (read more)

Layer Cake Movie Review by Zara (9/3/2007)

I spent yesterday with no internet connection after 5 pm, so my opinion on this movie has dissipated or had time to simmer, whichever you prefer.

I'd first like to bash on Sienna Miller some more. I really would like someone to explain to me how she has come to be considered an "actress." Why is it she keeps getting cast...

Layer Cake Movie Review by SHAYNE (3/4/2007)

I wanted to buy a new DVD today, something that I hadn't seen before, but something not too old. I picked up LAYER CAKE, read the box, and then seen "from the producer of SNATCH & LOCK, STOCK, AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS. The rest was history, I knew if it was from the producer of two of my favorite movies that I was in for a...

Layer Cake Movie Review by AJ (4/14/2006)

Veteran producer and first-time director Vaughn knows his stuff, and perhaps too well; you'd think someone as talented as he is behind the camera could maybe be able to come up with something a mite...

Layer Cake Movie Review by Matthew (5/16/2005)

Sylish, involving, maybe too complicated

A successful cocaine dealer (Daniel Craig) wants to retire. Everyone seems to know this and wants him to help with one last project, errand or favor. Jimmy (Kenneth Cranham), his boss, wants him to help find the daughter of a rival, Eddie (Michael Gambon). The daughter has slipped...

Layer Cake Movie Review by Jessica Film Junkie (8/4/2007)

A great twisted tale about drug dealers starring new Bond Daniel Craig. As the film moves through its complex plot and perfect stylization, you become more and more invested in Craig's nameless hero. He discovers how deep the corruption of those around him and learns that perhaps this life is not for him.

The pitch...
