Spanglish 2004

From acclaimed multiple Oscar-winning writer/director/producer James L. Brooks comes the comedy/drama Spanglish – a look at cultures colliding as a beautiful native Mexican woman Flor, the mother of an equally stunning 12-year-old girl, a golden child, becomes the housekeeper for an affluent Los Angeles family. Of all the horrifying pitfalls she worried about in this new culture, Flor had never fathomed the peril of being truly embraced by an upscale American family. (read more)

Spanglish Movie Review by Jessica Film Junkie (3/14/2007)

I swear to someone's God...James L. Brooks freaking read my diaries and followed me around or something. This film comes wayyyyyyy too close to my life.

Let's see...I was a chubby girl whose mom used to buy her clothes that were too small to encourage her to lose weight. My mom is a fitness freak who used to run for...

I didn't have any interest in watching it myself (I've seen Sandler play serious well, I know how it works) but I ended up being trapped into watching it while I was on the plane...

Spanglish Movie Review by Lance (6/22/2005)

"Spanglish". Would someone please tell Adam Sandler to wise up and get back to making comedy? He doesn't return my phone calls. "Spanglish" isn't a bad movie, for a James L. Brooks' weeper, but why can Sandler stick to doing what he did well, up until "Little Nicky"? Why do these idiots feel they need to grow? "Anger...

Spanglish Movie Review by Matthew (6/22/2005)

Brain circuits, reconnecting. Reality, resurfacing. Noises in head, stopping. Aaaaahhhhhhh!. Back to normal. Hopefully, the nightmares will stop.

Deborah Clasky (Tea Leoni, Mrs. David Duchovny. Let's face it, she isn't known for her work in movies.), is the…

Uh, oh. Didn't get far. Brain circuits breaking free,...

Spanglish Movie Review by Salvador (5/9/2005)

A thoroughly fulfilling dramedy with top notch acting and realism. It stars Adam Sandler and Tea Leoni as husband and wife. Sandler being a top Los Angeles chef and the wife recently unemployed due to downsizing. However, it seems that her previous job was very strenuous due to her attitude she takes at home and toward her...
