  Napoleon Dynamite (2004)

Napoleon lives with his Grandma (Sandy Martin) and his 30-year-old, unemployed brother Kip (Aaron Ruell), who spends his days looking for love in internet chat rooms. When Grandma hits the road on her quad runner, Napoleon and Kip's meddling Uncle Rico (Jon Gries) comes to town to stay with them and ruin their lives. Napoleon is left to his own devices to impress the chicks at school and help his new best friend Pedro (Efren Ramirez) win the election for Student Body President against the stuck-up Summer Wheatley (Haylie Duff); all the while making sure to feed Grandma's pet llama Tina, and avoiding association with Uncle Rico and the herbal breast enhancers he sells door to door.

Napoleon Dynamite Movie Review by Tony (4/7/2006)

Tina Majorino and Jon Heder in Fox Searchlight's Napoleon DynamiteJon Heder and Aaron Ruell in Fox Searchlight's Napoleon Dynamite

In the same way "Revenge of the Nerds" was popular, in 2004, a film entitled "Napoleon Dynamite" took the film nation by storm. People either loved the movie, hated the movie, or just didn't...

Napoleon Dynamite Movie Review by Ilana (11/2/2004)

It’s no secret that, lately, there has been something missing from modern cinema. Yes, folks, I’m talking about llamas in feature length films. Well, hold onto your hats, “Napoleon Dynamite” is the answer to your llama-craving prayers.

Though the film centers on dorky Napoleon and his squad of equally dorky pals and...

Napoleon Dynamite Movie Review by Ezra (2/13/2007)

To me, this is absolutely the funniest movie of the year; second only to The Producers as the funniest I've ever seen. This is another one that some people hate, especially after its surprising commercial success, but the reason for this success is that the film is real: we've all known people like the characters in the...

Napoleon Dynamite Movie Review by Melanie (1/31/2007)

I don't like to write about movies that I can't stand, but I am going to make an exception. Perhaps I just didn't get this movie, but come on. What was there to get? I can only take some guy, standing there looking stupid for so long before I want to start ripping my hair out.

I enjoy comedy fictions, but I have to say...

Napoleon Dynamite Movie Review by Wyan (6/1/2005)

I've gotta say, I don't get this film. Yeah, it's quirky and amusing, but not LMAO funny. It definitely can't be accused of taking a saccharine view of Napoleon and his world. The dude is pathetic. He's sad and lonely, and Jon Heder's 'pathetisad (Kate O'Brien, The Drew Carey Show)' characterization grates on my...
