Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004)
Will Ferrell stars as Ron Burgundy, the top-rated anchorman in San Diego in the '70s. When feminism marches into the newsroom in the form of ambitious newswoman Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), Ron is willing to play along at first—as long as Veronica stays in her place, covering cat fashion shows, cooking, and other "female" interests. But when Veronica refuses to settle for being eye candy and steps behind the news desk, it's more than a battle between two perfectly coiffed anchor-persons...it's war.

I was a fan of Judd Apatow from the opening scene of the television show Freaks & Geeks, and yet I don't know why it took me so long to get around to watching this movie. Ferrell is his usually awesome self and Steve Carell at times steals the movie. I laughed my ass off throughout this...

This movie is a great satire on the anchormen of the 1970's. Though it sometimes tries too hard to be meta and kitschy, it is ultimately really funny.
Christina Applegate could be the Angie Dickinson or Shirley Maclaine of the Frat Pack. That one gal who can go toe-to-toe with the boys, while also being really hot. She...

I won't pretend to say this is a great film, but it is easily one of the funniest I saw in 2004. Will Ferrell is a great comic actor and this is a perfect vehicle for his talents. The DVD in particular has some of the funniest material I saw all year, including a hilariously homoerotic music video, a manic commentary...
