There were so many people who were condemning this movie, I was worried. Hell, the box office for it had the biggest drop-off from first to second weekend in release that it seemed as if M Night had lost his magic touch. There are people who still believe that he has. Not only the most underated film of 2004, it's the most misunderstood film of 2004. M. Night Shyamalan has created a masterpiece and only a few can see it for what it truly is.
For those looking for a horror film, look somewhere else. The Village is a dramatic story of true love.
