  Lost in Translation (2003)

From Amazon: Like a good dream, Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation envelops you with an aura of fantastic light, moody sound, head-turning love, and a feeling of déjà vu, even though you've probably never been to this neon-fused version of Tokyo. Certainly Bob Harris has not. The 50-ish actor has signed on for big money shooting whiskey ads instead of doing something good for his career or his long-distance family. Jetlagged, helplessly lost with his Japanese-speaking director, and out of sync with the metropolis, Harris (Bill Murray, never better) befriends the married but lovelorn 25-year-old Charlotte (played with heaps of poise...

Lost in Translation Movie Review by Zara (4/8/2007)

I don't know why this movie was considered to be so great. Hey, I'm a big fan of pointless stories that end up going nowhere, but this irritated me. I think it might be because I don't understand the appeal of Scarlett outside of her nice rack. It could be because the vast age difference thing has always gotten on my...

Lost in Translation Movie Review by B Movie Ben (3/11/2007)

Sometimes I watch a movie and I just don't get it. The accolades flowed
for this one and I really couldn't see what all the fuss was about. It is supposedly the best work of young Sofia Coppola's career. Maybe it is the deadpan way that Bill Murray plays his characters. He just seems so emotionless to me.

I watched it...

Lost in Translation Movie Review by Seth C (10/18/2006)

In Sofia Coppola's second film Lost In Translation, stars Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson finally show two actors on the screen becoming humans instead of just overblown characters you would and could only see in the movies. Both Murray and Johansson completely understand who their characters are and they collectively...

Lost in Translation Movie Review by Lisa (3/14/2007)

This is a gorgeous film Sophia Coppola gets two big thumbs up on this one. It took me back to a time when love didn't necessarily mean that you had sex with a person. Bill Murray really took me of guard with his performance along side Scarlett Johansson.

Maybe its because I watched this movie when I had just moved to...
