The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
Frodo Baggins and Sam are still being led to the fires of Mount Doom by Gollum in order to destroy the Ring. Trust becomes an issue as the ring makes Frodo paranoid even of Sam. Aragorn struggles to fulfill his legacy as he leads his outnumbered followers against the growing power of the Dark Lord Sauron, so that the Ring-bearer may complete his quest.

Waiting for each installment was better than...

*Deep sigh* and then the saga ends...
In December of 2003, The Return of the King hit theaters. Directed by Peter Jackson, it was nominated for 11 Academy Awards, and it won 11 Academy Awards, including Best Director (Jackson was nominated for the previous two movies as well, but this was the first he won), and Best...
