Movies that are geared towards kids and families end up alienating someone in that mix. Oddly enough, with the movie HOLES I think it ended up alienating the target audience: kids. Unless the children watching it were older, the story is far too mellow for many to grasp onto.

I had read the book many years previous of the movie coming out. The movie does a very good job of not messing the book story line up but i still think it was missing just a little something. I really enjoyed the movie and my favorite part is the part where they find the treausre and the flash backs happen =)
