The Core (2003)

Smarter than Armageddon and equally extreme, The Core is high-tech Hollywood hokum at its finest. This is the second world disaster film I have seen just on this one day. The other film I watched was the not so good Armageddon, but The Core is slightly better. I gave Armageddon 2 and a half stars while The Core offers a fun 3 and a half stars. The thing about The Core though is that it has sort of a reality factor...

I remember seeing the preview of this movie and I thought it would another exercise in formulaic disaster epics. Turns out I was right.
