  Spider-Man (2002)

From Amazon: For devoted fans and nonfans alike, Spider-Man offers nothing less--and nothing more--than what you'd expect from a superhero blockbuster. Having proven his comic-book savvy with the original Darkman, director Sam Raimi brings ample energy and enthusiasm to Spidey's origin story, nicely establishing high-school nebbish Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) as a brainy outcast who reacts with appropriate euphoria--and well-tempered maturity--when a "super-spider" bite transforms him into the amazingly agile, web-shooting Spider-Man. That's all well and good, and so is Kirsten Dunst as Parker's girl-next-door sweetheart. Where...

Spider-Man Movie Review by Zara (10/20/2008)

This movie was torture for me to sit through when I originally watched it in the theater and as time has gone on and its appearance on TV has come before me, it hasn't gotten much better. My daughter tends to like it, but that might be because it's so ham-fisted with its display of emotions, only someone without subtlety...

Spider-Man Movie Review by BillyBob (8/28/2009)

Personally, I thought that the timid, near-friendless, little Peter Parker was, pretty much, just a frickin' hypocrite when it came to his whole pretence about being 'Aunt May & Uncle Ben's' little goody-goody.

I mean, here stood our perfect, little web-shooting super-hero, Peter Parker, fighting crime, and doing what he...

And Everywhere That M.J. Went Peter Parker Was Sure To Go......

FROM ZERO TO SUPER-HERO -

And along came the Spider....
Who became a Crime-Fighter....
And beat on the Bad Guys all day!....Hooray!

One bite, just one, from a genetically-engineered spider and Peter Parker's life was never, ever the same. Simply Amazing!...

Spider-Man Movie Review by Bobby B (1/30/2008)

The reasons Spider-Man works are too numerous to even count but they all come down to one thing: Sam Raimi's obvious love and understanding of the title character. When I first heard that he was directing the film I was ecstatic. As a huge Spider-Man fan I really wanted to see the movie helmed by someone who loved comic...

Spider-Man Movie Review by Chris (8/16/2007)

On a school field trip, Peter Parker (Maguire) is bitten by a genetically modified spider. He wakes up the next morning with incredible powers. After witnessing the death of his uncle (Robertson), Parkers decides to put his new skills to use in order to rid the city of evil, but someone else has other plans. The Green...
