Resident Evil (2002)

A virus has leaked out in a top-secret facility, turning all resident researchers into ravenous zombies and their lab animals into mutated hounds from hell. Time to clean up, so the government sends in an elite military task force led by Alice (Milla Jovovich) and Rain (Michelle Rodriguez) to contain the outbreak. But they have just 3 hours before the pathogen becomes airborne and infects the world.

I am sure that this would have been a much better film had George Romero (Night of the Living Dead) signed on, but I don't take anything away from Paul W.S. Anderson, who did a good job despite lack of experience with zombies.
I did a double feature last night to prepare for the third film in this series. No, I haven't...

One of the first video games I ever played on my PS1 was Resident Evil 2. It truly was a terrifying game, also the first time I ever saw an extreme amount of violence. When I first saw the trailer for this film, I expected blood,guts and gore, but instead I got a clean adaptation.
