The Pearl of Death 1944

A famous, cursed pearl is bought by the British Museum in London. But due to a rare mistake in judgement by Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone), the treasure is swiped by a master thief (Miles Mander). Soon after, Holmes learns of a series of brutal murders committed by a ghoulish maniac known as "The Creeper" (Rondo Hatton). Holmes must determine the link between the two criminals, the pearl and six plaster busts of Napoleon. Elementary! (read more)

The Pearl of Death Movie Review by Movie Addict (12/26/2009)

Basil Rathbone's sixth turn as Sherlock Holmes, with Nigel Bruce as his sidekick, Dr. Watson, is as enjoyable as the rest. Holmes says lines that would sound ridiculous coming from another, but they work for Rathbone, as does Bruce as his partner.

Another murder mystery involving some Napoleon busts and a creepy killer...
