The Count of Monte Cristo (2002)
description written by member Suzanne:
Jim Caviezel is Edmond Dantes. A happy and honorable yet painfully
naive man living in the 1800's. His "old buddy" Mondego is of wealthier
stock and higher staus and secretly lusts after his friend's good life.
Mondego has Edmond framed for treason and he is sent to an island jail
for many years. One day he returns to his home to find his entire world
has been stolen from him. he carefully plots his revenge. This movie
reminds me of the story in Greek myth of the Odyssey. The emotions and
integrity of the aforementioned acotrs is astounding. Guy Pearce is one
you LOVE to hate. James Frain is another, and im about to call this a
stellar cast.
