Riding in Cars With Boys (2001)

I don't know what, if anything, I was expecting from this film. Perhaps that's why I turned out liking it as much as I did. I do love Drew Barrymore, but she should stick with comedy. She tries for leading dramatic lady with this uneven and silly movie.
It never really melds. Barrymore is too clumsy to go head-to-head with someone like Lorraine Bracco and Penny Marshall really doesn't know what to do with her.
Disappointing but true, maybe...

First off, the movie is based on the book which is based on Beverly's life. Now that that's been said, I wanted to say the film is overall an enjoyable film.
