The Fast and the Furious (2001)

The Fast and the Furious takes you inside the thrilling world of street racing. Vin Diesel stars as Dominic Toretto, a gang leader who is accused of hijacking trucks and stealing over a million dollars worth of electronic equiptment. The FBI sends LAPD officer Brian O'Conner(Walker) undercover into Los Angeles' street racing circuit to take down Toretto and his team. As O'Conner becomes part of Toretto's life and gets involved with his sister, Mia (Brewster) he tries to prove that Toretto is innocent.

This is one of my biggest guilty pleasures and the only thing that I fought for when I separated from my ex. We couldn't recall who had bought the DVD or where, but I refused to budge on the fact that it was MINE.

For some odd reason which I can't possibly fathom, this series has quite a following although it will never be considered Oscar material nor it is campy enough to be tied down as some cult classic. Yes, I dare say I'm completely baffled as to why this series or this film has such a large appeal but so be it.

The Fast and The Furious is the mans movie. Its got the women, the cars and the action that a man wants to see in a movie. The cars are very beautiful, scanning some top models and brands. The race scenes are done fresh and well and the acting is terrific.
